About me
I'm a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with 5 years' experience as a qualified CBT Therapist in an NHS adult mental health service in East London. I have a particular interest in working with young people, helping them develop practical tools early in life they can use to navigate future challenges and helping them understand themselves better.
I have delivered CBT in a range of settings including schools, universities, and adult and children's NHS services. I have also trained and worked as a CBT supervisor and have received many additional trainings including working with complex PTSD and adapting CBT for autism and ADHD.
In my spare time I enjoy Pilates, reading, and walking and training my dog who I hope will follow in my footsteps and become a therapist (dog) in his own right soon!
If you experience worry, intrusive thoughts, distressing memories, or fall into unhelpful patterns such as avoidance, procrastination, or checking, you are not alone. I support people experiencing anxiety-related difficulties including obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), health anxiety, social anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and habit disorders. I also work with depression, low self-esteem, and eating disorders.
I work individually with all adults over the age of 18, and young people over the age of 16. I can work with parents of younger children with anxiety and some behavioural issues. I may also be able to work individually with a younger child on a case-by-case basis.
I primarily offer CBT which is a practical and structured approach working towards identified goals. We will work together to identify any unhelpful cycles you have fallen into and how to break them and take steps towards your goals.
My work is always person-centred and grounded in compassion, I draw on other third-wave CBT methods such as acceptance and commitment therapy or mindfulness to find what works for you. I aim to provide a warm, empathic, and non-judgemental space, and I treat everyone as an individual, tailoring my style to suit your needs.
I also offer private CBT supervision.
I am currently offering online sessions via Microsoft Teams. I hope to expand to face-to-face work soon; the website will be updated when further details are available.
Sessions are £100 for 50 minutes; I typically offer 10-20 sessions.
I offer a 15-minute phone call for you to ask any questions and to explore if we are the right fit.
